Our History

Origins and Founding

The Cambodia–China Investment and Development Association (CCIDA) was officially established in 2024, born from a shared vision between Cambodian and Chinese leaders to deepen economic collaboration and unlock sustainable development opportunities for both nations. Recognizing the growing need for a trusted, professional platform to facilitate cross-border investments, CCIDA was created to serve as a bridge between governments, enterprises, and communities.

Our founding members include prominent business leaders, policy experts, and institutional partners with decades of experience in trade, infrastructure, real estate, agriculture, and diplomacy. With its headquarters strategically located in Phnom Penh, CCIDA was positioned to lead Cambodia’s next chapter of international investment cooperation.

Milestones

Since its inception, CCIDA has achieved key milestones that laid the foundation for long-term impact:

  • 2024 – Official Launch of CCIDA in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with strong endorsement from public and private sector stakeholders.
  • 2024 – Sectoral Strategy Finalized, identifying 14 key investment areas including infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, technology, and SEZ development.
  • 2024 – First Investment Forums and Cultural Exchange Programs launched, connecting over 100 organizations across both nations.
  • 2025 – China Regional Expansion: Established regional liaison offices in major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and others to provide ground-level support for Chinese investors and facilitate collaboration.

Today and Beyond

Today, CCIDA stands as a dynamic organization driving Cambodia–China cooperation across multiple strategic fronts. With a growing network of partners and a team of experts in both countries, we continue to:

  • Facilitate impactful investments in priority sectors
  • Launch sustainable development projects that benefit local communities
  • Promote mutual cultural understanding through exchange programs
  • Provide regulatory, legal, and policy guidance for investors

Looking ahead, CCIDA is focused on further deepening institutional partnerships, enhancing digital services for members, and positioning itself as a central hub for investment collaboration between China and Southeast Asia.
